Three online courses are available now and a fourth is coming soon:
1. Jewelry Making Essentials - a comprehensive introductory course in jewelry metalworking
2. Make a prong basket setting for faceted gems
3. Make a prong setting for cabochons
4. (Coming soon) Make a clasp bracelet with a bezel setting for a cabochon.
If you want to learn about making jewelry, here are detailed and fun to watch videos that show you how. These online video courses were made after the Covid19 pandemic struck as a way for jewelry students at the Littleton Studio School, Littleton, NH, to continue their learning after the pandemic had shut the live classes down.
What you'll get is the same project oriented curriculum and the same content found in typical weekend long classes and workshops offered by Littleton Studio School. The price is way less though and you have access to the course whenever, wherever and forever.
The online course is more like buying an authoritative book, only better because you can actually watch the instructor (me) as I make and explain the projects. All you need is internet access and a phone, tablet or computer capable of viewing streamed video.
Who are these classes for?
Anyone that wants to learn how to make soldered and formed metal jewelry;
Students seeking to continue their education;
People that want to see the processes involved in jewelry making.
What will you learn?
Soldering and shaping metal; use of jewelry making tools; safety in the jewelry studio; making rings, bracelets, pendants and earrings; buffing and finishing; texturing metal; jewelry design aspects
How are classes presented?
Classes are online and on demand. This means you can watch them any time that's convenient for you. The class is yours to keep so you can watch as many times as you like. Instruction is broken into short lessons five to ten minutes long. You will watch as the instructor (me) makes jewelry pieces and explains out loud the how and why of every step.
You will learn a lot just by watching the lessons, but we encourage you to make the projects yourself, using the video lessons as a guide.
How do I enroll in a course?
To enroll, go directly to the enrollment page at Littleton Studio School or if you prefer email me and I can get you started.
