Chrysoprase Ring Size 6 1/2 $50

Chrysoprase is a beautiful translucent green chalcedony (pronounced cal-SED-ny) that is a form of quartz precipitated into microscopic crystals from superheated water associated with volcanic activity,  and moving through cracks between rock. Chrysoprase gets its beautiful green color from small amounts of nickel.

Chrysoprase and Argentium Sterling Silver Ring
While rockhounding in Tuscon Arizona, I found this particular green Chrysoprase at the Tuscon Gem Show (the best rocks are always found in shows and rock shops). The rough pieces originated in Australia, and sometimes chrysoprase is called Australian Jade.

Chrysoprase is reputed to have several metaphysical healing properties according to the Crystal Guide Pocket Edition. Among them, purifies blood and lowers blood pressure; heals vision impairments; redirects greedy thoughts into acts of charity; decreases irritability; increases cheer and hopefulness.

I obtained several nice pieces of rough stone which I sliced and shaped it into ovals. Argentium sterling silver was fused to make the ring. That is, separate pieces of wire were heated and melted together into one piece.
The bezel, which is .999 fine silver, was soldered to the ring. As it was made, the ring size is 6 1/2, but this can be adjusted up or down to fit your finger.

Price for this piece is $50 inclusive of postage to US desinations. Please inquire about postage rates to areas outside the US.
