3D Printed, Hand Painted Baby Turtle

My intention when I got my 3D printer was to make molds for casting jewelry. But I'm having so much fun making models of things found in nature.

Take this baby turtle for example. It is made to resemble a red eared slider. The original design was digitally sculpted in virtual reality on a computer. Then the design was ported into the printer where a plastic model was made. Finally I painted the little guy.

These models look like wood carvings. You can buy the computer file to print on your own 3D printer.  Or choose unpainted or finished versions.

File only                                    $5

Printed but unpainted         $10

Finished and painted           $70
