Faceted Apache Tear Pendant $100

The faceting style is called a cushion. The stone is an Apache tear that I found near Superior, Arizona. Apache tears are obsidian that has been exposed to water and weathering. The Superior region is known for Apache tears with exceptional clarity and color.

That is the geologist's point of view, but there is another. Legend tells of a time when a band of Indians were fleeing from an enemy. Rather than face capture they leaped to their deaths from a cliff. When the Indian women saw what happened to their men, they cried dark tears that turned to stone when they touched the ground. Today the stones are known as Apache tears. It is said that if you have an Apache tear you will not cry because the Indian women have already cried enough.

Now Apache tears are said to help us cope with loss and grief. It makes a wonderful gift to someone experiencing loss. The pendant, done in argentium silver, complements this gemstone perfectly.

Please email me to check on availability or to ask any question. Price is $100. I can make a chain for you for an additional $10. Please specify length
